Bob's Bommie

Bob's Bommie lies on the Great Barrier Reef off the Queensland coast, in the Ribbon Reefs area often reached by liveaboard out of Cairns or Port Douglas. A bommie is an isolated coral pinnacle rising from the surrounding reef floor, and sites carrying that name are typically dived as a single formation encircled on each pass. The Ribbon Reefs sit on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, favored for their proximity to deeper water beyond the continental shelf.
