About this site
Sand Island is part of Midway Atoll, a remote coral atoll in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, within Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument. Dive access to sites around the atoll has historically been limited due to its isolation and protected status, with the surrounding waters reachable only by boat from the small settlement on Sand Island itself.
