The C-53 Felipe Xicotencatl lies off Cozumel in Quintana Roo, Mexico, a former Mexican Navy minesweeper intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef. It rests as a wreck dive with a maximum depth of about 22.3 metres, rated a beginner dive, with visibility generally reported as great and the bottom formed by the wreck itself. Barracuda, grouper, moray eels, and sea turtles are regular sights, and divers have also reported lobster, nurse sharks, and snapper around the hull. Occasional strong current and the option of penetrating the wreck have been noted as things to be aware of on this dive.
