Cachorro sits along the coastline of Pico Island in the Azores, an archipelago in the mid-Atlantic belonging to Portugal. The site takes its name from the small harbor and rocky shoreline area of Cachorro on Pico's northern coast, where volcanic rock formations meet the open Atlantic.
