About this site
Arcadas de São Roque lies off São Roque, a coastal parish on the north side of Pico Island in the Azores archipelago of Portugal, facing open Atlantic waters. Dive sites along this stretch of coast are typically volcanic in structure, formed by the same basalt flows that shape much of Pico's shoreline. Divers here have also reported Atlantic spotted dolphins, common dolphins, skipjack tuna, and blue jack mackerel passing through the area.
