About this site

Columbia Cordillera lies off the southwest coast of Cozumel, part of the Columbia Reef system within the island's marine park. It is known for dramatic coral formations, deep coral pinnacles, and swim-throughs cut into the reef wall, with the dive typically run as a drift given the current running along this side of the island. Maximum depth on the site is around 22 metres, with the pinnacles and swim-throughs offering plenty to explore within that range. Divers have reported barracuda and eagle rays cruising over the formations, and the site is usually considered suited to intermediate divers and above given the depth and current.
