About this site
El Cielo lies in the shallow sand flats off the southern coast of Cozumel, an island off the Yucatan Peninsula in Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is a well known starfish and sandbar spot, more often visited for snorkeling and calm shallow water time than for deep diving, with visibility that draws boats out from the island's south end. The area is popular with day-trip catamaran tours out of San Miguel de Cozumel.
