About this site
Da Qingzhen (大青针), also written Zhentou Yan (针头岩), is an isolated rock pinnacle about 32 nautical miles south-east of the Nan'ao peninsula, off Huidong. Three huge boulders rise some 30 m above the surface and continue down in stacked blocks to 40 m, forming swim-throughs where fish gather; dives run 18–40 m with 10–25 m visibility. Current is strong and only eases near the bottom, so it is for Advanced divers with 30+ dives, who stay close to the rock and carry an SMB.
