About this site
Daphne Minor is one of the Daphne islets rising from open water northwest of Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos archipelago, a short boat trip from the main island's settlements. The islets are volcanic tuff cones sitting in the channel between Santa Cruz and Baltra, surrounded by the deeper water of the central Galapagos. The dive here runs to a maximum depth of about 18 metres over a rocky bottom, with no current reported, though it is still rated an advanced site. Barracuda are a regular sight, and divers have also reported eagle rays, hammerhead sharks, manta rays, mobula rays, parrotfish, reef sharks, sea turtles, seahorses, and stingrays around the rock.
