About this site
Deep Rock lies off Malapascua Island, a small island north of Cebu in the Visayas region of the Philippines, near the tip of the Chinese-Cebu channel that makes the area a base for boat dives out to nearby reefs and drop-offs. The site sits over a rocky bottom and reaches a maximum depth of around 29 metres, rated an advanced dive with currents that divers have reported as strong. Frogfish and nudibranchs are a regular find here, while divers have also reported barracuda, trevally, harlequin shrimp, ornate ghost pipefish, and pygmy seahorses on the rock.
