About this site
Donkalo Thila is a thila, a submerged reef pinnacle, rising from deeper water in Ari Atoll in the Maldives and reached by dhoni or dive boat from resorts and liveaboards operating in the area. It reaches a maximum depth of around 24 metres and is rated a beginner dive over a reef bottom. Manta rays are a regular sight here, and divers have also reported eagle rays, leaf scorpionfish, mantis shrimp, Napoleon wrasse, and nudibranchs on the reef.
