About this site
Himendhoo Dhekunu Kandu is a channel site on the southern side of Himendhoo island in Ari Atoll, in the central Maldives. Kandu sites in this region typically follow the reef edge where the atoll meets the open channel between islands, and are usually accessed by dhoni or dive boat from nearby resorts and guesthouses in Ari Atoll. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an advanced dive, consistent with the channel currents typical of kandu sites in this part of the atoll.
