About this site
This drift site sits off Verde Island in the Verde Island Passage, the channel between Batangas province on Luzon and Puerto Galera on Mindoro, an area recognized as one of the richest concentrations of marine biodiversity in the world. The passage carries strong tidal exchange between the South China Sea and the Sibuyan Sea, and that current is what defines diving here, pushing divers along a reef bottom that reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres. It is rated an advanced dive because of the current strength involved. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, fusiliers, and triggerfish along the reef.
