Washing Machine sits off Verde Island in the Verde Island Passage, Batangas province, a narrow channel between Luzon and Mindoro known for strong currents driven by tidal flow between the South China Sea and Tayabas Bay. It is a wall dive to a maximum depth of around 15 metres, rated advanced due to strong currents that give the site its name, with divers also describing down currents, eddies, and turbulent, washing-machine-like water at times.
