Edithbugh Jetty

Edithburgh Jetty sits at the town of Edithburgh on the eastern coast of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, facing Backstairs Passage and Gulf St Vincent. It is a popular shore dive built around the pylons of the town jetty, well known among South Australian divers for its sponge growth and macro life, with nudibranchs and seahorses regularly found among the pylons. Divers have also reported blue-ringed octopus, cuttlefish, frogfish, other octopus species and pipefish around the structure. The site reaches a maximum depth of about 9.5 metres and is rated a beginner dive, easily accessed from shore in Edithburgh itself. Fishing lines left around the pylons and the blue-ringed octopus itself are worth keeping an eye out for, since both have been noted as hazards at the site.
