About this site
El Capitan sits in Subic Bay off Olongapo, on the coast of Zambales province in Luzon, in an area once home to a US naval base on the South China Sea side of the island. It's a reef dive reaching a maximum depth of around 18 metres, rated beginner, with no current and good visibility. Divers have reported angelfish, clownfish, grouper, parrotfish, snapper, trevally, and triggerfish here, along with occasional sightings of barracuda, tuna, seahorse, manta ray, dugong, and even whale shark.
