Embudhoo Express

Embudhoo Express is a channel dive on the edge of South Male Atoll in the Kaafu Atoll region of the Maldives, where a break in the reef connects the atoll's inner lagoon to the open sea. Sites named as an express or kandu run in this area are known for strong tidal flow that pulls divers along the channel walls and overhangs, drawing in grey reef sharks, eagle rays, and larger pelagic fish that gather to feed in the current. The dive typically follows the drift along coral-covered walls and swim-throughs cut into the reef edge. Because the current can run fast and unpredictably, this type of channel dive is generally considered suitable for more experienced divers comfortable with drift conditions.
