About this site
This site lies off the Florida Panhandle coast near Panama City, in the Gulf of Mexico, where the region's artificial reef program has placed decommissioned military aircraft and other structures to build habitat over open sand bottom. The F-106 Airplanes site consists of Convair F-106 Delta Dart jets sunk as part of that program, reaching a maximum depth of around 34 metres. The depth places it toward the deeper end of the local artificial reef sites, better suited to divers comfortable at that range.
