Fannys Reef sits in Fijian waters within the Melanesian island arc, in the general vicinity of Viti Levu's coastline. Reefs in this part of Fiji are typically accessed by boat from nearby coastal towns or resorts. Divers here have reported blue-green chromis, coral damselfish, dusky surgeonfish, and eastern triangle butterflyfish among the reef fish, along with sightings of floral Maori wrasse, humphead and masked bannerfish, sixbar wrasse, and weedy surge wrasse.
