About this site
Side Street is a reef of dozens of coral heads on the south coast of Viti Levu, Fiji, near Pacific Harbour. There is so much life that ten dives would hardly be enough, and the site suits beginners as well as experienced divers.
The reef is a blend of hard and soft corals mixed with plentiful gorgonians in vivid reds, yellows, purples and pinks. Canyons and swim-throughs hold giant black coral bushes and sea whips, which makes the site a favourite with photographers.
Marine life ranges from emperor angelfish to whitetip reef sharks. You can also see huge sea fans, feather stars, lionfish, batfish and schooling jacks around the bommies, which are covered in bright pink, orange and red soft corals.
