About this site

Ferranelles lies in the Medes Islands marine reserve off L'Estartit, on the Costa Brava in Girona province, Catalonia, near Meda Xica. The Medes Islands are a small archipelago protected as a marine reserve since the 1980s, reached by short boat trips from L'Estartit, and known collectively for their rocky reef terrain. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported barracuda, eagle rays, grouper, moray eels, and octopus around the reef here.
