About this site
Froggy Lair sits off Mabul Island, a small island near Semporna in Sabah, on the Malaysian side of Borneo. The waters here are part of the Celebes Sea shelf area, close to other muck and macro dive sites that Mabul is known for. It is a shallow site, reaching a maximum depth of around 10 metres, and rated a beginner dive. Frogfish are a regular find here, and divers have also reported ghost pipefish, mandarinfish, and nudibranchs on the sandy muck bottom. Blue ringed octopus have been spotted too, so divers should watch where they place their hands.
