About this site
This volcanic dive site off Faial features dramatic underwater cliffs and arches formed by ancient lava flows. Schools of barracuda and triggerfish patrol the clear Atlantic waters, while moray eels hide in crevices. The rocky slopes host colorful sponges and occasional passing rays. Depths range from 12 to 30 meters, with mild currents ideal for drift diving. Excellent visibility often exceeds 20 meters, revealing the striking basalt formations.
