Gascanane Sound is the channel separating Cape Clear Island from Sherkin Island off the coast of West Cork, in the southwest of Ireland. It lies within the waters of Roaringwater Bay, an area studded with small islands and rocky sounds off the Mizen Peninsula region of Munster.
