About this site
Goldfish Point marks the entrance to the La Jolla Cove and Underwater Park area in La Jolla, San Diego, California, at the northern end of the cove's rocky point. It sits within the San Diego-La Jolla Underwater Ecological Reserve, a stretch of protected coastline along the Pacific known for kelp beds and sandstone reef. Divers and snorkelers commonly enter from the cove beach and swim out past the point to reach the kelp forest and adjacent canyon area. The site is shallow near shore, with depth increasing as the reef gives way toward the La Jolla submarine canyon.
