About this site
Panglao Island sits off the southwest coast of Bohol in the Visayas region of the Philippines, an area known for its fringing reefs and channel dives around Alona Beach and the strait toward Balicasag Island. Habagat, the local name for the southwest monsoon wind, suggests this site lies on a stretch of coast exposed to that seasonal weather pattern. The Habagat Wreck reaches a maximum depth of around 37 metres over a wreck bottom and is rated a beginner dive. Sweetlips are a regular sight on the wreck, and divers have also reported frogfish, fusiliers, jacks and amberjacks, lionfish, nudibranchs, snapper, and stingrays around the structure. Dive operators based in Panglao town run trips out to sites along this coastline by boat.
