About this site
Hakamagoshi 1 (袴腰１) is a shore-entry site on Sakurajima in Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 30 m, suitable from novice level, with little current. There is a walk to the entry point, and the beach is rough lava boulders. The bottom drops away immediately and keeps deepening as the dive follows the terrain. Butterflyfish, damselfish, anemonefish, porcupinefish, red sea bream and gobies are seen.
