About this site
Hakamagoshi 2 (袴腰２) is a shore-entry site on Sakurajima in Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 30 m, suitable from novice level, with little current. The bottom is black lava, which makes the water feel dark. Visibility varies sharply with the season. Wrasses, cardinalfish, damselfish, blennies and gobies are among the life here.
