About this site
The Halaveli Wreck lies off Halaveli island in Ari Atoll, in the Maldives, and takes its name from the nearby resort island. It is a cargo vessel that was intentionally sunk to create a dive attraction and now rests on a sandy bottom close to the house reef, making it an easy boat dive from the island. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 22 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. It is often combined with a drift along the adjoining reef, where reef fish and occasional pelagics pass through the area.
