About this site
Hin Kong lies within the Mu Koh Surin marine park, off the Andaman coast of Phang Nga province in southern Thailand. The Surin islands sit close to the Thai-Myanmar maritime border and are reached by boat from the mainland pier at Kuraburi. The site sits on a rocky bottom with a maximum depth of around 30 metres, good visibility, and is rated a beginner dive, though divers have noted it can be easy to go deeper than planned and have reported strong currents at times. Marine life divers have reported here includes barracuda, trevally, triggerfish, squid, octopus, nudibranchs, seahorses, pipefish, ornate ghost pipefish, and harlequin shrimp, alongside occasional sightings of manta rays, whale sharks, and tiger sharks.
