About this site
Hirimandhoo Thila lies in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, in the far north of the Maldives, off the island of Muradu. Thilas in this region are submerged coral pinnacles rising from the atoll floor, typically reached by dhoni from local island or liveaboard bases in the northern atolls. The site sits on a reef bottom, and divers have reported anthias, garden eels, grouper, lionfish, moray eels, humphead wrasse, and scorpionfish around the pinnacle.
