About this site
The HMCS Saskatchewan is a wreck a few minutes from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The ship was sunk in 1997 to serve as an artificial reef for marine life and visiting divers, and it is now one of Canada's most popular dive sites.
The ship sank almost perfectly upright, with a slight list to starboard. Many large holes are cut along its length, which makes it diveable for all skill levels, and many rooms are accessible, including the engine room, which has a large open space with pipes and catwalks twisting through it.
Visibility is excellent all year round, helped by the gentle bottom current the ship sits in. The maximum depth is about 40 m.
