About this site
Hole in the Wall is a wall dive site off Puerto Galera on the northern coast of Mindoro, in the Verde Island Passage area of Luzon, Philippines, generally reached by boat from operators based around Sabang and Small La Laguna. The site takes its name from a swim-through or crevice feature cut into the rocky wall typical of the area. It reaches a maximum depth of about 18 metres over a rocky bottom, and is rated an intermediate dive with medium current, with divers noting down currents and stronger currents on occasion. Lionfish, snapper, and sweetlips are regularly seen along the wall, and divers have also reported frogfish, octopus, pufferfish, and scorpionfish tucked into the rock. Hydroids, lionfish, and scorpionfish are worth watching for given their sting potential.
