About this site
Iglesia sits off Cancun on the Yucatan Peninsula, along the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo, part of the limestone shelf and reef structure running parallel to this stretch of shore and typically reached by short boat trips from Cancun's marinas. It is a reef dive to a maximum depth of about 18.3 metres, rated beginner. Nurse sharks are a regular sighting here, and divers have also reported barracuda and eagle rays on the reef. Some divers have noted intricate tunnel systems running through the reef along with occasional strong current.
