About this site
La Herradura sits along the Caribbean coastline of Cancun on the Yucatan Peninsula, in the state of Quintana Roo. This stretch of coast is characterized by limestone shelf and reef formations typical of the Mesoamerican Reef system, with dive sites reached by short boat rides from the Cancun hotel zone or nearby marinas. The site tops out at around 17 metres and is rated a beginner dive over a reef bottom. Divers have also reported barracuda, eagle rays, and nurse sharks here.
