About this site
Inner Reef sits along the coast of Timor-Leste, in the waters between the island nation and the Maluku region of eastern Indonesia. This part of the Wetar Strait and surrounding seas is known for steep coastal drop-offs and reef systems close to shore, typical of the broader Coral Triangle area. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 50 metres and is rated technical. Divers have reported barracuda, mackerel, napoleon wrasse, and tuna moving along the reef here.
