About this site
Yonara Suido Oasis Point (ヨナラ水道オアシスポイント) is a reef site in the Yonara channel off Iriomote Island in the Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa, dived at depths of 6 to 30 m and entered at slack water, from April to September under east to south-east winds. A large coral head stands on a sand bottom averaging 25 m, thick with sweepers and glassfish, and the sand ripples around it are a feature. Soft coral, sea fans and gorgonians grow on the head, with batfish, marbled stingrays, garden eels, bigeyes, whip-coral gobies and yellow shrimp gobies.
