About this site
Isla del Cano is a small island off the Osa Peninsula on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, within the Caño Island Biological Reserve. Dive sites around the island are reached by boat from Drake Bay or Sierpe on the mainland. Diving here is rated advanced, with choppy surface conditions and strong currents reported. Bull sharks are a regular presence in the waters around the island, and divers have also reported barracuda, grouper, manta rays, snapper, tuna, and even whales passing through.
