About this site
The Jado Trader is a cargo freighter deliberately sunk in the 1980s off Guanaja in the Bay Islands of Honduras, now an established artificial reef dive. It sits on a sand bottom with a maximum depth of 33 metres, and is rated an advanced dive, with the shallower parts of the superstructure rising well above that. Over the decades the hull has grown over with sponges and coral, and the site is known for large green morays, groupers, and passing pelagics such as eagle rays. Bottom time is limited given the depth, and the wreck is typically reached by boat from Guanaja, often dived alongside other wrecks and reef sites in the area.
