About this site
Jahat Island lies among the small granite islands of the Riau Archipelago, in waters south of Singapore near Batam and Bintan. Despite the Malaysia label attached to it, the coordinates actually place it within Indonesia's Kepulauan Riau province, in a stretch of the South China Sea known for its scattered reefs and islets. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported barracuda, grouper, and nudibranchs on the site.
