Jake Seaplane

The Jake Seaplane is a Japanese Aichi E13A floatplane wreck resting in the Rock Islands near Meyungs, Palau, a legacy of World War II when the islands served as a Japanese military base. The aircraft sits largely intact on a sandy bottom, with wings, engine, and cockpit still recognisable, making it a popular dive for those interested in aviation wrecks. Depth tops out at around 14.3 metres, and it is rated a beginner dive, allowing for good bottom time and natural light on the airframe. Divers have reported fusiliers and mackerel around the fuselage, along with sharp, corroded metal on the airframe that is worth some care when moving around the wreck. It remains an easy, accessible dive within the Rock Islands, though the corroded structure is a reminder of its age.
