About this site

Havelock Island sits in the Andaman archipelago, in the Andaman Sea off India's northeast coast, and is a hub for dive operators running boats out to sites scattered around the island and nearby Neil Island. Junction is one of the named reef sites reached from this base by boat, with a maximum depth of around 15 metres and a reef bottom. It's rated a beginner dive, though current can run medium to strong at times. Barracuda, eagle rays, grouper, and Napoleon wrasse are regularly seen here, and divers have also reported fusiliers, mackerel, trevally, tuna, octopus, nudibranchs, and occasional sightings of hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and whale sharks. The strong currents are worth noting as the site's main hazard.
