About this site
Kame no Nedoko (亀の寝床) is a boat-dived reef off Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture, about 45 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 15 m. A submerged rock is visible from the surface with its base at around 20 m; the dive works slowly around it and up into the shallows, where sea turtles sleep in a cleft in the rock that gives the site its name. Good water flow brings schools of rainbow runner. Intermediate and above.
