About this site
Kaminoakase (上ノ赤瀬) is a boat dive near Maruta in the Danjo Islands, dived from the Kamigoto area of the Goto Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 35 m and an average around 20 m, for intermediate divers and above. There is current, but the large reef provides a lee where the dive can be taken slowly; outside that shelter the flow is strong and care is needed. Pygmy seahorses have been confirmed on sea fans at 25 to 28 m, sea turtles appear frequently and the underwater terrain is intricate.
