About this site
Koganezaki Park Beach (黄金崎公園ビーチ) is a shore-entry site in the coastal park at Koganezaki, Nishiizu, on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 18 m. The bottom is boulders and white sand, unusual for western Izu, and it is a macro site where seahorses, frogfish and other rare Izu species are found consistently. Small eagle rays visit in early summer and amberjack in autumn, and a wide lawn above the beach serves for surface intervals.
