About this site
Koh Ha Yai is part of the Koh Ha island group in the Andaman Sea, off the coast of Thailand and commonly reached from Koh Lanta or Koh Phi Phi. The islands form a small cluster of limestone outcrops rising from the sea, and the reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres with light current and great visibility, making it a beginner-friendly dive. Eagle rays, manta rays, ghost pipefish, scorpionfish, and stonefish are all found on the reef, and whale sharks pass through as well. Divers have also reported barracuda, frogfish, grouper, moray eels, nudibranchs, sea turtles, and seahorses around the site. There are caves and swim-throughs in the limestone here, and penetration into them is not recommended without proper preparation.
