Koh Haa

Koh Haa is a cluster of small islands south of Koh Lanta in Krabi province, and the name simply means five islands in Thai. The group shelters a lagoon of calm, clear water that makes it one of the most versatile stops in the southern Andaman, with easy reefs for training on one side and more interesting terrain on the other. Its signature feature is the cavern system on the western side, a set of chambers and a chimney often called the Cathedral, where light falls through the rock into blue water. The reefs around the islands hold hawksbill turtles, giant morays, cuttlefish and a good count of macro life, including seahorses and ghost pipefish, and whale sharks are seen here from time to time. The sheltered position keeps conditions gentle for much of the season, with generally good visibility and light current, which is why Koh Haa suits everyone from new divers to photographers working the walls and the cavern.
