About this site
Kubu is a coastal village on the northeast side of Bali, in the Karangasem regency near Tulamben, along a stretch of shoreline facing the Bali Sea, with the black volcanic sand typical of this coast sloping into deeper water. The wreck site here reaches a maximum depth of around 39.5 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, with light current and good visibility over a wreck bottom. Divers commonly encounter barracuda, clownfish, nudibranchs, octopus, and trevally, and there have also been reports of batfish, bumphead parrotfish, eagle rays, fusiliers, garden eels, leaf scorpionfish, Napoleon wrasse, and parrotfish around the site. Entry and exit can be difficult in strong wind, which has been flagged as a hazard along with the depth involved.
