About this site
Kyan (喜屋武) is a boat-dive wall site off the south of Okinawa's main island, about 40 minutes from Naha, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 15 m. Boats usually anchor at the reef edge and the dive follows the reef wall, which bottoms out at only about 15 m, so open-water divers can enjoy the topography. Surgeonfish, parrotfish, wrasse, damselfish and nudibranchs are typical. Little current; suitable from beginner level.
