About this site
Channel Crevasses is a dive site off Itoman in Okinawa, and it is one of the signature sites of that stretch of coast. The terrain is riddled with swim-throughs, cracks and crevasses, and they run on a much larger scale than anywhere else in Okinawa.
Some of the cuts in the rock are about 20 metres deep and wide enough for a diver to fit inside. The dive reaches around 30 metres. In the shallows the coral formations stand out and look bright and colourful on a sunny day.
Reef sharks are often seen lurking around the crevasses, and lobsters can be found retreating into the darkness.
